New Mercy for Monday

Grace for the Assignment: A 3-Day Devotional Series

This devotional is Day 3 and the final devotional in Crown of Faith’s three-day series, Grace for the Assignment.

We began by receiving grace for the assignment. Then we learned to recognize victories hidden inside difficult days.

Today, we're receiving something else God freely gives:

permission to begin again.

New Mercy for Monday

“They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:23 (KJV)

Friday may have been hard.

Last week may have stretched you.

Maybe something didn't work.

Maybe you lost your patience.

Maybe you questioned yourself.

Maybe you walked away thinking about everything you should have done differently.

But Monday does not have to carry Friday's weight.

Because God's mercy doesn't arrive once a month.

It doesn't arrive once a year.

Scripture says His mercies are new every morning.

That means yesterday doesn't get to decide what today will become.

A hard day doesn't get to prophesy over your whole season.

Read that again.

One difficult day cannot tell you that you're failing.

One setback cannot determine the outcome of your assignment.

One challenging week cannot cancel what God called you to do.

Sometimes faith looks like walking back into the same place where yesterday was difficult and believing:

“God can give me a different grace for today.”

You can adjust.

You can learn.

You can rearrange.

You can ask for help.

You can try something different.

You can forgive yourself.

And you can begin again.

Don't carry yesterday into a day God has already filled with new mercy.

Monday isn't just another day.

Sometimes Monday is God's invitation:

“Come back. Let's try again.”

Prayer

Father,

Thank You that Your mercy is new every morning.

I release the frustrations, mistakes, disappointments, and difficulties of yesterday.

Give me wisdom from what happened, but don't let me carry the weight of it.

Help me walk into this new day expecting Your presence instead of expecting yesterday's problems.

Give me fresh patience.

Fresh wisdom.

Fresh strength.

Fresh ideas.

Fresh grace.

I trust You with what happened yesterday, and I trust You with what will happen today.

Thank You for another opportunity to begin again.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Today's Declaration

Yesterday does not determine today.
I receive fresh mercy.
I receive fresh wisdom.
I receive fresh strength.
I will learn, adjust, and begin again.
A hard day will not prophesy over my whole season.

Reflect

What am I carrying from yesterday that God is asking me to release before I step into today?

Leave yesterday with God.

There is new mercy waiting for you this morning.

Grace for the Assignment This devotional is Day 1 of Crown of Faith’s three-day series, Grace for the Assignment —a reminder for anyone walking through an assignment that is stretching them beyond what they expected. Over the next three days, we’ll reflect on finding God’s grace in the hard days, recognizing victories that don’t always look like victories, and receiving fresh mercy to begin again. Today: Grace for the Assignment God doesn’t always remove the difficulty, but He promises to give us the grace we need to walk through it. Return tomorrow for Day 2: When Making It Through Is the Victory.
