Returning to God: Bloodline Repentance
Returning to God: Bloodline Repentance
Scripture
Lamentations 5:7
"Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities."
Devotional Reflection
Sometimes the battles we face did not start with us. Scripture shows that patterns can pass through generations—habits, fears, spiritual struggles, and brokenness.
But the good news is that through Jesus, we are not bound by the past. When we come before God with repentance, we invite His healing not only into our own lives but into our family line.
Repentance is not about shame. It is about restoration.
When we bring our families before the Lord, we are asking Him to cleanse what was broken and establish something new for the generations that come after us.
God is a redeemer of families.
Prayer
Lord,
I come before You today asking for forgiveness for my own sins and for the sins that may have opened doors in my family line.
Cleanse my bloodline through the blood of Jesus.
Break every cycle that is not from You.
Let my family line be marked by faith, healing, and righteousness from this day forward.
Establish a new legacy of faith in my family.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
